Search Within My Silence

PRESS
RELEASE
The
horrors of child-trafficking are put under the microscope in this startling
novel, based on substantial case study research, producing a story of
unimaginable suffering certain to resonate with readers.
Child-trafficking is one of the greatest social
tragedies of the 21st century. Unable to defend themselves, to speak up or to
resist the controlling adults who tear their lives apart, these children become
the victims of a cruel world which holds them to ransom, exploits them, abuses
them and throws them away once they have grown too old for use. Five underage
youngsters, including Rania and Nirosia, fall foul of the evil of human nature
and the apathy of the societies in which they live, those that enable their
torture to go unnoticed. Rania unleashes the cries of pain and desperation of
all victims through her determined, unsettling silence; Nirosia may yet pay with
her life for the agonizing screams she unleashes in her efforts to wake up those
who are oblivious to her suffering. These children are the puppets of a
repellent circus. Who knows when their nightmare will end.
Author Yiannos Lambis was moved to expose the appalling
suffering endured by the hidden victims of child-trafficking, bringing their
plight into the open, revealing the ugly ignorance of the human conscience which
continues to turn a blind eye to these contemporary travesties. Lambis expertly
explores the psychological trauma and the terrifying experiences of such
children through his detailed researched and beautiful characterisation.
Lambis’s message is unflinching; underaged prostitution, drug abuse, or any form
of violence and exploitation is caused by the lack of morality invoked by the
materialistic political regimes. Human dignity does not, and must not, have a
price.
